BPO tech boss has limited internet access By Techgirl
Why is Sparsh BPO Services going in for petty cost cutting? There are new restrictions on telephones and internet. Apparently Sparsh has not been doing very well financially despite great revenue numbers. Management has begun cost cutting by stopping internet at the office, even the CTO has no access to free internet email sites while at work
The data cards given to users of laptops provided by Sparsh BPO have been taken back or curtailed to a large extent. Many processes which had landlines provided have been withdrawn, or now in use with some restrictions.
It is being said that Team Leaders of processes have to personally justify to senior management (VP) the reasons for attrition within their teams. This move is going to add pressure upon teams and team leaders.
It is also reported that appraisals have not gone down well with agents and dissatisfaction is at an all time high among agents.

Sparsh BPO: Losing TATA? By Pulkit Sharma
Will TATA AIG GI move their process from Sparsh BPO to Spanco Telesystems? The process markets Accident and Health insurance policies of TATA AIG GI to the HSBC Bank credit card customers (Bancassure). Currently TATA AIG is using two third party vendors: Andromeda and Sparsh BPO Services.
According to a little bird who prefers to be anon, 4-5 months ago Spanco Telesystems had approached TATA AIG GI for business, and soon after that Spanco has got an order of 200 seats to be run out of their centre at Raghuleela Mall at Vashi in New Bombay. Sparsh BPO Services is having its share of challenges since the exit of the head of the process. New managers have been hired by Sparsh, but they are not able to sustain the daily sales rates. Since the past few months, the Sparsh BPO TATA AIG GI process is doing low volumes of sales which may compel TATA AIG GI to move the process out of Sparsh BPO. Earlier it was reported that Sparsh BPO services account used to generate on an average Rs. 7 to 10 lakhs of business daily, but with the exit of the process head it seems that productivity has gone down to Rs. 3 and 4 lakhs on a daily basis. Costs are fixed but lower returns may compel TATA AIG GI to move out of Sparsh BPO Services and redeploy resources to Spanco Telesystem's upcoming BPO at New Bombay. The Sparsh TATA AIG GI account had come to Sparsh by way of 100% acquisition of Spanco's stake in Sparsh BPO the domestic arm of Intelenet Global Services.
Techgoss note: Sparsh is the domestic subsidiary of Intelenet Global Services (P) Ltd. It offers state of the art solutions to Vertical Industries to meet their voice and BPO needs. Sparsh currently has 5200 seats operating 24 by 7, and has the potential to scale up to 20,000 thousand seats by next year.
