Chinese hack Kerala Govt website By NRM
Respected Kerala Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan is chasing the dragon which has manifested in the form of hackers from China. Last year in June, the official website of the Kerala Chief Minister was hacked four times. The Hi-Tech Crime Enquiry Cell of Kerala Police with the help of C-DAC Cyber Forensic Division Experts have zeroed in on two IP addresses in China during the investigation.
The cyber goons who vandalised the CM’s website were hacking it from a Communist’s place of pilgrimage, China.
Hackers had inserted links to certain websites with objectionable contents in the Chief Ministers website www.keralacm.gov.in. New topics were created in the Discussion Forum and comments were edited. The discussions related to the upcoming IT Smart City project in Kochi were also tampered with.
The crime detachment wing of Kerala police is now approaching Interpol to find out the details about the Chinese hackers who defaced the website. The police are also investigating the role of hackers, one each from Russia and US. The state police have prepared a questionnaire to be handed over to Interpol for clarifications from Chinese, Russian and the US authorities. The questionnaire in Russian was prepared with the help of Russian Cultural Centre. The police want the Interpol to translate the questionnaire to Chinese language due to absence of a Chinese interpreter in Kerala.
Meanwhile, officers haven’t ruled out expatriates from Kerala doing the damage from the three foreign cities. However, in the local political buzz, there are allegations that fighting between the various factions of communists in the state might be responsible for the attack on their comrade. But whatever be it, the Kerala CM must be definitely asking these Chinese hackers, “You too Comrade?”
