Aryans Infoway frauds employees
By Sunil Sharma

Aryans Infoway (www.aryansinfoway.com), a software company based in Technopark, Trivandrum has cheated its employees to the tune of Rs.6 crores. The modus operandi was fairly simple – every employee was made to deposit Rs.1 lakh each as ‘share investment’ in the company and so, with 600 recruits in the last three years, it was fairly easy money for the company’s promoter.

Freshers had to sign a three year service bond and those who violated any terms of employment had to forego the amount. Most of them are campus recruits from North India. Aryans Infoway is an ISO 9000: 2000 certified IT Company with branches in Trivandrum, Kochi and Bangalore.

Based on the complaints of many of these Engineering and MCA graduates, the City Police have registered a case of cheating against Harikrishnan, the 28-year-old CEO of Aryans Infoway. The police said the trouble started when the company failed to open after Onam holidays. The name boards outside the offices have been removed and shutters are down with the posts lying outside. Harikrishnan has been absconding ever since.

Techgoss had in January this year carried a story on this company threatening a techie’s forum which reported their taking one lakh from freshers. Fresh recruits were paid Rs.5,000 as stipend during a namesake six-month training period. Next was a six months probation period when they were paid Rs.7000 and after that a Software Engineer got Rs.10,000. But the fact is that they got salary once every two months in the last one year.

“We were impressed with the company’s presentation when they came for campus recruitment”, says Prabhat, a B Tech from Orissa, “we never thought we would be taken for a ride like this.” He is not alone; in fact there are 27 others from his college in Rourkela. “Most companies ask for experience and we were desperate to get in somewhere” says another. Most of them have taken loan to give the deposit. They are planning to file a court case and are meeting the Kerala CM to apprise him of the issue.

This fraud of innocent workers by one company has send shock waves in Technopark where most CEO’s have good reputations in the tech community.  It takes only one bad apple to create uncertainty among the highly skilled, talented tech community at Technopark, Kerala.

Aryans Infoway operated from the M2 Building (owned by M SquareSoftware, an US based Company) in Technopark. They owe M2 over 10 lakhs by way of rent and other charges.

Techgoss note:  An earlier version of this article had a headline which could be misconstrued that the Technopark CEO was somehow involved.  Technopark management, including its CEO, have no links to Aryans Infoway. This inadvertent error is regretted.

Techgoss note:  Early this year, we had reported the following story on how Aryans Infoway had tried to censor a forum complaining about its fraudulent practices.

This is not something new. I have worked for a company in cochin infopark who did the same thing. We were not paid salaries for 6 to 7 months and then one fine day the CEO appears from nowhere and hands us the due salary amount in 5 cheques. The very next week the company declares itself as bankrupt and all the cheques bounced. In the end i made paperboats out of the cheques and palyed with my daughter!!!. Thanks, J PS:I hear that the company is still running in infopark with a different name.
