Firstsource lets go Recruitment Manager By Ritesh Mathur Firstsource is on the verge of opening a new centre in Jallandhar, Punjab for its domestic process. The main processes run here would be for its client Bharti Airtel. The process would be run in Punjabi and caters to a domestic clientele. This is a major chunk of the Firstsource Domestic Business. The entire team is being recruited in Jallandhar now.
This centre is to have a capacity of 600 seats. This will be just the front line staff and in addition to this would be all the support functions – Admin, Human resources, Training, Security , etc.
The Recruitment Manager for the location Mr. Harjot Singh (name changed for privacy reasons) had been recruited and came on board just a month ago and he was doing well in his job. Mr. Singh comes from the Retail Industry and was doing well in one of the leading retail organizations in the country. By all accounts, he was able to achieve results.
Of late, it was found that the post employment reference check conducted for Mr. Singh was not favourable. It turned out to be negative. Hence, the company has asked him to leave with immediate effect. Post employment reference check refers to a process called "Quest" in Firstsource Solutions, wherein there is an external agency appointed to verify and conduct a check on the credentials of the employee who has joined.
