Aegis VP and Site Head resigns By Pulkit Sharma
Aegis BPO has 39,000 employees based in 42 delivery centers and looking after 135 clients. Head quartered in Mumbai, Aegis has call centres in India, Philippines, USA, Costa Rica, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Australia, Kenya and South Africa. Aegis, ranked eighth by NASSCOM among the top BPO exporters in India, is experiencing a growth spurt in a number of its centres.
An Aegis tipster based in Calcutta tells us about the recent exit of one of their most highly regarded managers. Aegis Site Head and Vice President, Manoj Kohli, who was based in Calcutta, has left to join Andhra Pradesh head quartered Karvy Data Management Services.
Manoj Kohli had left Satyam’s BPO in Hyderabad to take up the Calcutta based assignment with Aegis in August 2009. But he decided to leave Aegis within the year and return to Hyderabad. He joined Karvy Data Management Services on May 1, 2010.
The Aegis BPO's Calcutta center has seen substantial churn on account of it being located far away from the city at Salt Lake. The situation is compounded by poor transportation facilities in Calcutta. Along with distances, agents find higher paying jobs with rival BPO’s that provide better facilities and transportation.
As frequently repeated within Techgoss, attrition is having an increasingly adverse impact on the profitability of already squeezed Indian domestic BPO's bottom lines.
