UST Global to Recruit 300 Engineers
By Anil Philip

At a time when most IT companies are downsizing or laying off employees, one company in Technopark Trivandrum is planning to do the contrary. UST Global, a leading software services company based here will be hiring about 300 software engineers. UST Global is Kerala's largest IT Company with over 5500 employees and offices across four locations in India and many overseas.

"We are looking at recruiting 100 plus engineers every month in the next two to three months", says Alexander Varghese, the Centre Head of UST Global in Trivandrum. The requirements are in Java, Mainframes and Dot Net with experiences between 3 to 5 years. He continues, "We are not getting the right talent". Getting the right people in this mid segment of work experience is an issue faced by most IT companies.

The economic recession in US hasn't affected the company much. They have a large number of clients from different countries across a varied spectrum of areas and this has ensured that even if one project gets affected, they have another to bank on.

The employees in the company feel reassured after hearing this news. "Alex never talks big but telling we need 300 people is to emphasis that UST won't do something like other companies in Technopark (read IBS)", says a senior techie who does not want to be identified. "There is requirement of Java and Ajax, a lot of new projects need it and we need people with experience. But there are quite a few trained people in the company who are not being utilized at all".

So all those Java geeks and Dot Net professionals out there who are looking for a change, you know the doors you should be knocking!
