Sparsh COO to leave in March 2009 By Pulkit Sharma
Techgoss has learnt that after a 3 year stint, Sparsh BPO Chief Operating Officer Radhika Balasubramanian will be moving on after her contract expires in March 2009. Radhika will be replaced by another female executive Gayatri Balaji who is currently the Chief Operating Officer for South India Operations. Gayatri looks after the Aircel TN and other processes these days.
Radhika, is preparation of her exit, has moved one of her favourite executives Vijay Venkatesh to Intelenet International where he will report to Susir Kumar (Managing Director, Intelenet). Vijay will handle a Business Process consulting business out of the USA and will be there for a year or so.
Sparsh is facing some problems with half yearly losses of 4 plus crores. According to insiders, the expenses are a bit more but not shown on the books as some of the key employees are on Intelenet payroll. The share price has also taken a battering and was at an abysmal low at 28 odd rupees per share as against a healthy 158 a couple of months ago. The global economic jitters have affected many BPOs, some more than others.
There are talks about the best way to merge Sparsh with Intelenet which would hide the balance sheet of Sparsh.
Techgoss note: Sparsh is the domestic subsidiary of Intelenet Global Services (P) Ltd. It offers state of the art solutions to Vertical Industries to meet their voice and BPO needs. Sparsh currently has 5200 seats operating 24 by 7, and has the potential to scale up to 20,000 thousand seats by next year.
