Syntel: Exiting Manager praised

Over the last 12 months, Techgoss had published a series of exclusive reports about all that was happening inside Syntel IT, BPO and KPO. On June 14, Techgoss had exclusive reported on the resignation of the highly regarded General Manager, State Street Syntel Services, Ms. Lilly Prasad. Lilly has been with Syntel for about 6 years and is currently serving out her notice. 

Before joining Syntel, University of Madras educated Lilly Prasad was AVP at UTI AMC Pvt. Ltd.

Normally, Techgoss gets lots of tips backed up by cold, clinical facts.  Some Tipsters are angry at some injustice and send in hard stories.  Sadly, we rarely get many positive tips about good managers.  It seems Lilly Prasad is one of the few exceptions, and a number of tipsters have emailed Techgoss saying that it was a pleasure working with Lilly.

One Tipster (who prefers anonymity) and who recently left Syntel wrote in

Ms. Lilly Prasad is an extremely employee friendly person who follows an open door policy with her colleagues and subordinates. Even a young Trainee at Syntel could approach her with a problem, and they got a proper hearing and remedial action if the issue was valid.

Lilly is a manager who commands respect for her actions rather than her designation of General Manager. Lily, who has been part of the KPO since its inception, had won a Syntel Star Award (shared) in 2007-2008.

But it seems that where ever there is a Lilly there are sharp thorns as well. The are a couple of Machiavellian managers who have their eyes on her position and may even change the designation,  but the truth is that they will never command the kind of respect that Lilly enjoys with her team.

She has been an integral part of the oldest process at Syntel KPO – IMS - since its inception and losing her is going to be a big blow for the organization. If the company does not replace her with a competent person it would trigger another wave of resignations in the next 6 months

Syntel: Lilly leaves

Over the last 12 months, Techgoss had published a series of exclusive reports about all that was happening inside Syntel IT, BPO and KPO.

Today, we got 2 more tips about what was happening inside the company.

On June 10, we had reported on how the new CEO Prashant Ranade had cleverly resisted all attempts by a Business Head to scuttle an ESAT (Employee Satisfaction) Survey.  Mr. Ranade has pushed through the ESAT survey and will take some hard decisions based on its results.

Today, we heard that in his attempts to reach out to Syntel employees, Mr. Ranade has set up a portal know as CEO Connect where anyone can leave a question, query or suggestion.  He should be credited for such doing all he can to reach out to the staff.
