BPO shocked as respected HR managers quit By Pulkit Sharma
Aegis BPO, in its quest to becoming a $500 million dollar company, is on an acquisition spree. With more than 30 thousand employees in 31 offices around the world, Aegis is telling analysts that it plans to add 1,000 employees a month to meet its target of a double digit growth in 2009. Aegis has suffered a body blow with the shock resignation of its respected HR bosses.
Aegis CEO, Aparup Sengupta, manages the team in India, USA, Philippines and Costa Rica. One of his right hand men is Sudhir Agarwal.
A little bird on the Aegis Operations floor tells techgoss that respected Aegis Senior Vice President, HR, R. Prakash Toppo, has put in his resignation after ‘disagreements’ with Chief Operating Officer, Sudhir Agarwal on broader strategies for the company. Prakash Toppo, an alumnus of IIT and IIM, is universally respected for his knowledge and skills. Prakash masterminded the successful integration of every business taken over by Aegis on its acquisition spree. Prakash is considered an ideal role model by most Indian HR managers.
Another HR Manager who has also resigned in disgust is AVP, Human Resources, Sreedhar Bahudhanam, who had a Pan India responsibility. Sreedhar is credited with successfully integrating the entire Aegis BPO’s in South India and controlling them from Hyderabad. AVP HR, Delhi Zone, Seema Lakhtakia, has also put in her papers. Seema won the admiration of many at Aegis for the smooth hiring and training of 2000 Full Time Employees for the Vodafone Process at Aegis, NOIDA.
With the shock resignations of such senior experienced managers due to bureaucratic interference, Aegis recruitment and service quality will suffer in 2009.
