Worst computer contest By Ria Sharma
Harry McCracken founded and currently edits tech blog Technologizer. Last year, Harry was named to the Folio: 40 list of media industry movers and shakers. More importantly, in 2008 he received ABM’s Timothy White award for editorial integrity. And he has won many such awards. In an average month, his blog gets 400 thousand unique visitors.
Apart from being a man of intelligence and integrity, Harry also comes up with great ideas. His latest idea is to hold an America wide contest for the worst computer in the country. And the owner of the worst computer gets a brand new state of the art HP Envy.
“ Do you own a bad PC? A really, really bad one? It might be bad because it’s antiquated, in ramshackle condition, overwhelmed with a desktop full of junky software, or just plain ugly–or maybe all of the above.
Well, if you do, today might be your lucky day–we’re looking for the worst computer in the country. And when we find it–or at least the worst one possessed by someone who enters our contest–we’ll give its owner a truly nifty new PC, the HP Envy 13, courtesy of HP. “
Certainly a clever idea to create buzz and engage your readers. (10/7/2009) |
