Pune callgirl site back
By Pulkit Sharma

Prostitution is illegal is India. In 2008, a Human Rights Watch report stated that there was 15 million prostitutes in India with Mumbai being the largest such centre in Asia. Needless to say, most women turn to prostitution as a last resort.  Many are virtual prisoners of their pimps.

But prostitution thrives in India by staying in the shadows and paying off the politicians and police. Most women feel that male power structures have a vested interest in turning a blind eye to helping such women.

So, you would think that any prostitution ring would think twice before getting a public website and advertising ‘special treatment for IT pros’ in the  tech hub of Pune.  Especially, as they were busted and shut down 2 years ago.

Not so Pune-based Chamadi.com. Now its website has been revived with expanded services to other IT/BPO hubs like Hyderabad and Gurgaon as well.

Pune Mirror is reporting on the hurdles police face to get any such website banned in India

“
Deputy Commissioner of police (cyber crime) Rajendra Dahale said, “We have initiated the process to have the website banned.

"The accused cannot be booked under the stringent sections of the Information Technology (IT) Act before we have prior permission from the Ministry of Information and Technology. We are trying to process this case under the 69 (A)-2008 amendment to the IT Act.”

Dahale added that the cyber crime Cell has sent a letter to the joint secretary of the Communication and Information -Technology Department New Delhi. The joint secretary is the designated officer to acquire permissions from to initiate strict action against such sites.
