Shashi Tharoor hacked? By Techgirl
Powerful Indian newspaper Mid-Day told its readers that Mumbai-based cyber security consultant Ankit Fadia’s website Hacking Truths was judged as the second best hacking site in the world by the FBI. Mid-day interviewed super cyber expert Ankit to get his views on the best practices to follow while using social networking platforms like Facebook and Twitter.
Twitter, on its official website, describes Indian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Shashi Tharoor, as one of its ‘Advocates’ in India. Shashi Tharoor on his Twitter account describes himself as author, humanitarian, peacekeeper, columnist, former UN Under-Secretary General, now Minister of State for External Affairs, Govt of India. To his credit, more than 450 thousand Twitter users follow Shashi’s Tweets. Shashi’s tweets are intelligent and engaging although he does not mind in using them to promote himself. Check out one of Shashi Tharoors tweets today
“ Addressed military seminar on changing nature of conflict.Qsn frm Chinese Colonel alarmed by Indian perceptions of Chinese threat.Calmed him about 18 hours ago from web "
Yes, he ‘calmed’ a Chinese army colonel from being alarmed by us Indians. And no, I am not being sarcastic just because Shashi’s chamchas evicted me from Twitter.
But it seems that Shashi Tharoor’s Twitter account has been hacked a few times. Cyber expert Ankit Fadia told Mid-Day
“ Singer Britney Spears' account on Twitter is hacked almost once every two months. One of the hackers even claimed on her wall, that he's her public relation officer and that Britney is dead, with details about the date and venue of her funeral.
Indian politico Shashi Tharoor's account has been hacked several times too. Even Big B and Aamir Khan's blog were hacked. Once a blog, website, social networking account is hacked, a hacker has full control over it. He can spread rumours, communicate with fellow criminals, and indirectly make you a partner in their crime. “
Perhaps, it was not Shashi Tharoor who evicted me from Twitter. Perhaps, it was a hacker who had taken over Shashi Tharoor’s Twitter account.
