New Kerala IT News Portal

Mallu Network Zindabad!! Well, this is not a slogan one would ever hear on the streets anywhere but on the internet, it’s true. “It’s been just over a month since we went live and today we have got hits from 24 countries, even before a formal launch. Hats off to the great mallu network!!” says Anil Philip, the founder and Editor of Kerala IT News (keralaitnews.com), the first IT news portal from Kerala.

In India many of us would have grown up hearing jokes of the Malayalee Chai kada and the Punjabi Dhabba on the moon, but in reality, the reach of the highly regarded Malayalee network is incredible. The news portal did a prelaunch survey using social networking forums – both professional and personal, e-groups and micro blogging sites. Most of these online sites have a distinct community of people whose roots are in Kerala. Be it US, UK or even in South East Asia, and they feel proud to maintain that distinct identity. According to Anil, it was this network that helped them get a massive reach.

Kerala IT News aims to be a one stop shop for all the IT/BPO news and IT jobs in Kerala. News and events from the different IT parks in Kerala like Technopark and Infopark, IT and e-Governance initiatives by the Government and allied agencies find a place on the site. The basic idea is to have one place to get news and information about the IT scene in Kerala – for people who are in Kerala, for people who want to shift to Kerala, for those who are looking at Kerala and for those who want to invest in Kerala. Dr Ajay Kumar, Principal Secretary (IT), Government of Kerala, will formally launch the news portal on December 1, 2009 in Trivandrum.
