Kerala IT News launched

Kerala IT News (keralaitnews.com), the first comprehensive IT news portal from Kerala, was launched by Dr. Ajay Kumar IAS, Principal Secretary (IT), Government of Kerala at the Trivandrum Press Club on Tuesday 01 December 2009. Mervin Alexander, CEO, Technopark Trivandrum; Dr. Retan Kelkar IAS, Director, Kerala State IT Mission and Biju Mon, CI (Cyber Crime) Kerala Police, were some of the dignitaries present on the occasion.

Dr Ajay Kumar said ‘Kerala IT News’ has a very important role in projecting and popularizing brand ‘Kerala IT’. He also stressed the need for a comprehensive platform to inform the people about government initiatives. Offering felicitations, Mr Merwin Alexander said the media have been very supportive in the growth of Technopark and its activities. He hoped that ‘Kerala IT News’ would add to this support. Dr Rethan Kelkar said the role of media portals of the likes of ‘Kerala IT News’ has become important in the current IT scenario. He urged the need for bringing about news and information dissemination on modern day gadgets. Biju Mon elaborated on measures that could create awareness on Internet security and the role ‘Kerala IT News’ could play in bringing about such awareness.

“There is a great demand to know what’s happening in the IT sector in Kerala. IT professionals from Kerala working outside the State are very eager to know the latest IT scenario in the State and about IT job opportunities back home. Our portal will be offering solutions to all these,’’ said Anil Philip, Editor of the news portal.

Kerala IT News, the first such venture in Kerala to incorporate an international design, aims at being the one-stop-shop for all news and info related to IT and ITeS in the state. Kerala IT News will have its team of journalists closely watching the scenes around to bring all that happens in God’s own technology space to the readers.
