Teleperformance sacks 2 SMEs
By Pulkit Sharma

Teleperformance (TP) is one of the biggest BPO’s in the world.  It has about 100,000 employees and revenue of 1,800 mill pounds last year. Established in 1978, its core business spans the full spectrum of CRM/BPO contact center solutions. Teleperformance has a large global footprint in the industry with 276 contact centers, presence in 51 countries, servicing over 75 markets.

Teleperformance supports a number of clients including Adobe, SanDisk, Alliance One, Telus and Microsoft.

At Teleperformance, the Adobe process has a very strict policy of not only following the letter but the spirit of the directives given by their client Adobe. One of the policies is that Teleperformance (TP) Tech Support Advisors (TSA) should not note down the serial number of the customer's software for their personal use. The serial number gives access to copies of software.

A Tipster tells Techgoss that while a Teleperformance SME (Subject Matter Expert) was conducting an Adobe training course followed by a test for Tech Support Advisors (TSA) at Gurgaon, he was found to be helping a TSA. SME’s are senior to TSA’s and are expected to conduct an Adobe given test before TSAs can start work on the floor.

Teleperformance conducted a thorough investigation and found that the SME accused of helping juniors also had Software Serial Numbers of customers stored in his official emails.  This is against the rules as it could lead to piracy.  Adobe software costs between Rs. 50,000 – Rs. 70,000.  The emails also had the answers to the Adobe exam.

Two SME’s – Siddharth and Dinesh* – have been let go.

*At the request of our Tipster, we are not publishing the full names of the two sacked employees
