Despite being such a male dominated society, some of the most powerful people in this country are women.  Sonia Gandhi has the last word in the current Government.  President Patil, House Speak Meira Kumar, leader of the Opposition Sushma Swaraj play a key role in shaping the present and future of India.

Most are in agreement that India can only achieve its true potential when we women get our equal places in society.

Would India be better if women are offered equality?  Certainly!  Would India be still better if women take up most of the key positions in the power structures in the country?  Many women feel that the country would be better if it is run by women.

Would Indian marriages be happier if women are offered equality? Certainly! Would marriages and relationships be better if women always chose men as their partners?  And men only had a passive role in the selection process?

An American singles website HerWay.com believes so and its site ‘enables women to lead the matchmaking process.’

What does this mean?  Men sign up to be ‘displayed’.  Women sign on to ‘choose’ men.

How does HerWay explain women such a role reversal?  Normally, we women follow the policy that the guy should do the chasing.  And if we show interest, the guy may consider as ‘available’? This is especially true on the internet where some guys will tell any lies to meet women.
