Mr Bhat stuck at Znet
By Techgirl

Lakshmipathy Bhat is an advertising and communications guru and a new media enthusiast.  Currently, he a based in Bangalore and the VP of an advertising company.  He also writes at lbhat.com which was short listed for the Best Business blog at the recent Indibloggies awards.

I have been reading Bhatnaturally (lbhat.com) for a long time to get his valuable insights into the world of advertising.

In a recent blog post ‘New Domain, new beginning’, Mr. Bhat describes in graphic detail his terrible experience with Znet India after his domain www.lbhat.com expired on Dec 16, 2009 even as the Znet control panel erroneously showed it expiring in 2010.  When Mr. Bhat asked Znet on why their control panel was showing 2010 when his website registration actually expired on Dec 16, 2009, the explanation was that they ‘park’ domain names for 2 years and that is reflected on a users menu. (Yes, does not make sense to me as well)

It was a traumatic time for Mr. Bhat who lost his site for a few days. He spent Rs. 10,000 on a new domain name and hosting plan and then told his readers

I simply want to avoid any telephonic, email or direct contact with the self-proclaimed ‘India’s top web hosting company’.

The plan now:

- operate a new domain through GoDaddy

- Attempt to migrate the database from this site to the new one

- If the above fails, keep this site as it is and start afresh at Bhatnaturally.com

As you can see at his blog, in the cold light of the next day the Rs. 10,000 spent on getting a new domain and hosting plan on GoDaddy seemed to have been wasted.  It was too hard to migrate and so he is still blogging at his old site
