There are many Indian blogs which earn a few hundred dollars a year. Some bloggers earnings run in thousands of dollars.  And some writers like me work for Rs. 1000 a snippet (Techgoss pays me Rs. 1000 for 200 words). Most of us land up blogging for the love of writing than the money.

Andhra Pradesh based Amit Bhawani who describes himself as the ‘Chief Blogger’ at the Amit Bhawani blog group has done a blog post on how he earned $100,000 in 2009. Amit Bhawani is also a Director at Digital World Solutions, India where he handles all the operations. Amit also manages HostBrains Software Pvt Ltd.

Instead of just talking about the numbers let me give you more detailed information on the source of this money making.

Direct Ads / Incontent Link Ads 10%
Affiliate Networks 5%

The affiliate networks revenue is almost nothing and this is because I never concentrated on it, but the year 2010 would have a target of implementing more onto this area because if you have got traffic then merging it with Affiliates would yield the maximum results. Overall the income had been on an increasing trend and the year beginning was almost nothing when compared to the last quarter of 2009.

If true, this must be some soft of India record. In fact, only a handful of bloggers worldwide make this kind of money.  Amit, you have definitely shocked and awed all of us bloggers and writers who make only a fraction of your earnings.

Every year, the Indian tax office reveals figures listing the income tax paid by the richest actors and sportsmen.  Perhaps, they should create a list for our most successful bloggers as well. 

I can visualize both Andhra and Telengana fighting over who gets to keep Hyderabad-based rich blogger Amit.
