Story idea for Techgoss?
By Bala Shah

Are you a regular Techgoss reader and feel that you can do a better job than our Editor and some of our reporters? Do you like taking photos with your mobile phone? Do you have a nose for news? Do you want to contribute but prefer to remain in the background?

Do you want the world to know about your nasty boss or pleasant colleague?

Do you feel that TV Stations and newspapers should be sharing some of their profits with their Citizens Journalists who send in great tips and valuable stories? Currently, most Citizen Journalists are not paid.

Well, we may have a job for you. We also pay our Citizen Journalists.

Or, if you prefer, just send us anonymous tips with facts to back them up. More the detail in the anon tips, better are the chances of it being published.

Techgoss.com reports on what is really happening in the BPO, IT, KPO, telecom sectors and their social eco systems. Eco systems is another fancy way of saying tech conferences, startup meetings, pubs, parties, bands and social activities.

We are particularly interested in anyone who feels they have a flair for satire and/or cartoons.  We are now blogging at satire site  techgirltalk.blogspot.com and invite anyone who can match Techgirl’s  crazy wit and caustic humour.  Techgirl is a bit mad and so we are looking for people whose annual reports often hint at being ‘intelligent but with an attitude problem’.

We started techgoss with the motto of 'No Boring Articles'.  But we sometimes run out of interesting material and land up doing boring articles.  Hence, this job advertisement.

What we are looking for

- IT, BPO, KPO and telecom staff to report part-time on the good and interesting happenings not reported by mainstream media
- Guys and girls who like photographing interesting things in the IT, BPO, KPO and telecom sector.  There will be a minimum payment of Rs. 700 for each published photo even if it has been taken with a camera phone. Boss dancing with gay abandon.  Click.  Manager’s car in wrong spot.  Click. Photo features will be paid more.
- Freelance articles paid at a minimum of Rs. 700 for 200 word snippets.  For these roles, you can be located in any tech hub. Techgoss pays Rs. 700 – Rs. 1000 for 200-250 word snippets.
- Part-time reporting roles (upto 40 hours a month) paid upto Rs 8000/month. This would translate to 10 hours a week.  Work hours are very flexible.  Currently, we have part-time roles in every tech hub.  Please note that this would only suit someone who is currently reporting on the tech sector or is a skilled tech writer.
- Good analytical skills.  Good English is not essential as most techies are not writers.  If need be, articles will be edited by sub-editors.  You give us the information in bullet points and we will write it up for you.

Techgoss guarantees anonymity to all its contributors and writers.  If you have a full-time role in any IT or BPO company,  you can use a pseudonym while writing for techgoss.com

Please send your resume to techgoss@hotmail.com.  Also, a few of the story ideas you would like to pursue.  Please do include a contact phone number and a good time for you to talk.  Our Editor will contact you. Confidentiality guaranteed.
