Facebook: Share peaktimes
By Shalini Singh

Facebook with more than 400 million members is the hottest social networking website in the world.  Millions of people leverage the massive Facebook audience to share news and views.

So, what are the best times to share stories and articles on Facebook?

Dan Zarella is a social media guru who has been featured in New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Slashdot, Mashable and other international media. He was even invited to speak at the Twitter Conference.

Dan has just blogged his research which shows that stories published on the weekend have the best chances of being shared with the audience on Facebook

While I found less articles posted on the weekends (notice the gray bars at the bottom of the graph which indicate volume of URLs analyzed for each day), those stories that were published on the weekends tended to be shared on Facebook more, on average, than stories that were published during the week. The reasons for this probably include the fact that more than half of companies in the US block Facebook, so people can only use the social network at home, on the weekends. Additionally, the mainstream Facebook audience does not use Facebook for work.
