Chetan selects TV anchors
By Shalini Singh

Chetan Bhagat is one of India’s hottest young writers. IIT trained, he gave up a successful career in banking to pursue his love for writing.  Chetan’s book ‘One Night at the Call Center’ is a huge hit in our IT-ITES sectors.  His latest book ‘2 States’ has also been well received.

Chetan Bhagat made national headlines as the Bollywood hit 3 Idiots began its run to become one of the most successful Indian movies of all times.  Chetan, along with millions of Indians, felt that even though the movie was based on his book, it did not give him due credit.

Now, Chetan Bhagat is literally making news.  Not as the subject of news article, but rather as a Judge of a contest to select a news anchor for powerful Indian TV Channel Star News.

Star News has roped in highly regarded journalist Deepak Chaurasia, actress and social worker Tisca Chopra as well as Chetan Bhagat to judge aspiring TV news anchors. The auditions will be held in Indore, Nagpur, Allahabad, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna, Delhi, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad and Jaipur.  The entire news anchor selection process should be completed by May, 2010.

Two of the winners – one male and one female – would also win a Ford Figo car.
