Infy Facebook gen rebels
By Sandhya

By any parameters of a well run technology business, Infosys is one of our leaders.  Its co-founder Mr. Murthy is widely accepted as a wise, ego free, transformative figure.  Like all technology companies, not every employee is happy.  And they let management know through leaking information to news reporters as well as leaving caustic comments at the end of such articles.

Please read previous Techgoss reports on how Infosys had suffered bad media in the recent past.  Rightly or wrongly, Infosys HR bosses Mohandas Pai and Nandita Gurjar have becoming the lightning rod for some employee’s anger.

The highly regarded Bangalore Mirror has done an in-depth article titled ‘Why Infosys staff don’t tweet’ which has some interesting facts and some bizarre views expressed by the HR managers.

The Infosys HR Department has a team of 6 full time workers whose only job is to answer queries and handle comments on the company’s online forums.

An Infosys HR boss told the newspaper: “employees feel they work in a ‘rich company’ and don't want to be told how ‘everyone suffered,’ or listen to founder N R Narayana Murthy saying they have to work hard. Employees today want to participate in each and every decision”.

Then the HR logic gets a bit bizarre.  Infosys HR managers told Bangalore Mirror: "The madness and anger all began when we won an award for best employer. Now, we have opened a window for employees to air their grievances. A purging of anger happens every five years. It happened in 2004 too. It is just that then it was within, now it is on Twitter”

Read the Bangalore Mirror article to see how some Infosys employees even email their top bosses to complain there is no curd with chapattis.
