How to lose a Muslim girl By Techgirl
I have traveled to Turkey, Iran, Syria and number of other countries in this region. Not only did I enjoy the sights and sounds, but I felt safer in these countries than being in women hostile cities like Delhi.
But it seems that my Muslim sisters face the same problems as Indian women while surfing the internet.
New Jersey-based Sara Elghobashy has just blogged about ‘WTFatwa: How to Lose a Muslim Girl in 10 Seconds: The First Move’. The article reads in part
“ The Facebook Stalker
We’ve already mentioned internet creepers here at elan, but I think my favorite internet creepers are the ones that use Facebook. They come up with creative ways to catch your attention and some of them don’t even need a response to carry on a conversation. Here is my all time favorite:
Message 1 at 10:23pm: Assalamu allaykum, sister. I mean no disrespect when I say this but your one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen mashallah. No disrespect… but a brother can tell a sister when he thinks shes beautiful rite? I just wanted to tell you how beautiful you are mashallah. I’m not tryin to get with you or nothing… just wanted to give you a compliment. Assalamu allaykum.
Message 2 at 11:32am: Assalamu allaykum, sister. I was just wonderin… are you single? Being that your so beautiful and all… I’m sure a brother has already snatched you up… but it can’t hurt to ask rite?
Message 3 at 5:02pm: Assalamu allaykum. Why didn’t you respond to my message? What… you too good to respond or something? You ain’t even all that so why you so conceited. All you had to do was answer a question but I see your one of those sisters who thinks shes too good for the rest of us.
Yup, you got me. “
When my girl friends sometimes complain: “All men are the same on the internet”, they now they have more proof to back it up.
