McAfee software crashes
By Sandhya

McAfee is one of the world’s largest computer security firms.  McAfee employs 6100 workers worldwide, including at its offices in Bangalore, to develop and support its security software used by tens of millions of clients.  McAfee had revenues of $1.9 Billion last year.

Unfortunately for McAfee, it has walked into a public relations nightmare with its latest release update of its anti virus software.  This software was automatically copied to millions of business and personal computers running Windows XP Service Pack 3.

The bug in this faulty software caused millions of computers to stop working. Many keep rebooting. And because the computers have stopped working, remedial software could not be downloaded.  All the fixing has to be done manually.

McAfee customers are extremely unhappy and have left angry comments in their official website.

Apparently, even Intel was hit by this bug.
