Aegis office: cell stolen By Bala Shah
Aegis BPO has 39,000 employees based in 42 delivery centers and looking after 135 clients. Head quartered in Mumbai, Aegis has call centres in India, Philippines, US, Costa Rica, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Australia, Kenya and South Africa. Aegis, ranked eighth by NASSCOM among the top BPO exporters in India, is experiencing a growth spurt in a number of its centres.
Aegis Lucknow in UP is one of the key pillars of their BPO network. Aegis Lucknow has more than 5000 people working in different shifts. Their clients include Airtel UP East and West Prepaid and Postpaid, Airtel DTH (UP East and West Circles), Videocon D2H as well as Vodafone (UP East and West Circles). A tipster tells Techgoss that an Agent working at Aegis Lucknow found his Tata Indicom CDMA phone stolen from the workplace lockers on June 8. When the Agent escalated the theft of his mobile phone, a full scale search was launched. All other lockers were opened up to check if the stolen phone was hidden there. The guards were told to check the phones carried by workers leaving the Aegis premises.
What the fellow Agents find quite unbelievable is that the phone was stolen from an Aegis office area which is patrolled by security guards.
At the request of the tipster, we are not publishing the name of the Agent whose phone was stolen.
