Virgin:  Porn culture?
By Ria Sharma

Virgin boss Richard Branson has built up a multi billion dollar Telecom, Travel, Music and Finance business based on great ideas, hard work, luck and lots of sex appeal.  Richard does not miss a chance to promote his airlines using photo opportunities with his beautiful air hostesses. Their ads are sexy in more ways than one. In a media interview, he was candid enough to speak about joining the mile high club in his younger days.

Now a group of Virgin Blue employees are claiming they were sacked for watching porn even though their airline condoned porn. Sydney Morning Herald is reporting on the sacking of 25 staff in a company crackdown on employees watching porn on the internet while at work

In their applications to the workplace relations tribunal the workers claim that, while watching pornography at work is officially against the rules at Virgin, the behaviour has been "a custom and practice of the workplace for a number of years and has been condoned by management throughout this time".

One of the sacked workers told the Herald that sex had always been part of the airline, from the marketing strategies of owner Richard Branson to staff recruitment methods, and this had extended to the culture of the workplace.
