Tata Teleservices half goodbye to Aegis By Pulkit Sharma
Aegis is one of the leading BPO’s in India and part of the $40 Billion Essar Group. Aegis has more than 30 thousand employee’s world wide. After the recent loss of a number of respected HR managers, there is increased friction in the company. Aegis has just lost the Tata Teleservices inbound customer care processes in the North and South regions.
Tata Teleservices was one of the largest accounts with Aegis BPO Services across India.
An Aegis operations manager tells Techgoss that his BPO has lost the Tata Teleservices Ltd inbound (TTSL) customer care processes for both prepaid and post paid circles in the North and South regions. The remaining processes at Aegis BPO are Tata Teleservices Western region (MP, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra) and the East (Jharkhand, WB, Orissa etc)
Meanwhile, the North and South regions have been awarded to other BPOs based on an open national tender process. The techgoss tipster tells us that it seems like Aegis was unable to match pricing with other bidders who had responded to the Request for Proposal/Pricing (RFP) by TTSL.
The agents working in these processes have been let go. This is a culmination of the business which Aegis BPO was awarded in 2007 till early June/July this year.
Additionally, the market is abuzz with news that Idea Cellular Ltd has gone in for a pan India customer service Request for proposal/pricing and First Source has been awarded the South circles for customer service for its prepaid/postpaid customer care. The transitions shall begin soon.
Aegis BPO runs the Prepaid call center for Idea Cellular Ltd at Hyderabad for its AP circle prepaid customer base.
