Teletech joins sign-on Bonus frenzy By Juan Dela Cruz
As some call centers here in the Philippines face a dilemma of losing business, a number of their competitors have also been desperate in filling out open positions for their existing contracts. Huge bonus gimmicks are published online and in the Sunday jobs ads to attract the most number of applicants. Recently, Teletech announced more cash and gifts to lure Agents.
Teletech is among the top 50 global outsourcing companies and operates in 17 countries.
With IBM-Daksh throwing a 50,000 Peso sign-on bonus, Advanced Contact Solutions giving away 30,000 Pesos plus a cell phone, Teletech is also coming up with their own gimmick of rewarding successful applicants with a 10,000 pesos bonus plus an I-pod Shuffle.
Although way lower than offers made by its contemporaries and rivals, my source tells me that Teletech offers a better pay-out scheme for its new hires. Instead of having them undergo rigorous amounts of training, simulation, certifications and a certain length of tenure before getting any actual sum of cash, qualified individuals for the bonus will get 3,000 pesos on the first pay day after their first day of training. Consequently they get 4,000 pesos after training and the balance of 3,000 after regularization. No word on when will they hand out the I-pod shuffles though. It appears that this scheme is limited only to those hired for batched 9 to 15 for their client T-mobile who has been recognized to be a very generous partner often providing free food to everybody on the T-mobile floor.
Agents interested in this Teletech offer are warned. My source tells me training for the T-mobile account is rigorous and the actual work on the floor is “toxic”.
