.XXX is a new Top Level Domain (TLD), specifically designed for the benefit of the global online adult entertainment industry.  It will work alongside the other existing ICANN accredited TLD’s such as .com, .net, .org etc and offers significant benefits and advantages to both provider and consumer.

According to the ICANN, which overseas and authorizes the domain registration functions, the advantages of having dedicated .XXX sites for the sex industry are

* Registry Sponsored Portals
* Access to a unique micro-payment platform
* Labeled
* Malware & Virus checking included (optional)

According to the experts, XXX domains which would be available in Q2 2011, would cost approximately $60 each.  But there is a Pre-Reservation service which ‘allows individual entities to express early interest in certain domain names they may wish to register or protect in .XXX’.

Guess how many people have pre registered XXX domain names which they may be eligible for in the next 3 months?  As many as 327742 XXX domains have been pre registered and every day thousands more are booked.

Sex still sells on the internet.  Or at least it grabs the eyeballs.
