Syntel welcomes back Nitin Rakesh
By Bala Shah

Over the last 24 months, Techgoss had published a series of exclusive reports giving details of all that was happening inside the BPO, KPO and IT divisions of one of India’s most successful IT-ITES companies - Syntel.  Regular readers of Techgoss are well aware that a large number of our articles are crowd sourced.  People send in tips, photos, story ideas and even articles.

Many of our contributors have full times jobs in IT - ITES, and so prefer using a pseudonym. A Tipster (who prefers anonymity) wrote in giving another exclusive story to Techgoss.

Syntel has announced the appointment of Nitin Rakesh as President – Americas, Business Development and Near Shoring Center, with effect from Sep 3, 2012.

In this role, Nitin will head Sales and Business Development for Americas region with responsibility of all Strategic Accounts and New Business growth. He will also be responsible for development and implementation of Near Shoring strategies. The key accounts will continue to report under the Business Unit structure.

This is Nitin’s second stint at Syntel. Nitin was responsible for setting up Syntel’s KPO business and played a pivotal role in positioning the business as one of the fastest growing and profitable businesses for Syntel. Nitin joins Syntel from Motilal Oswal Asset Management Company Ltd., where he was the Managing Director & CEO and responsible for setting up and growing the Asset Management business for the group into an innovation led award winning platform.

Nitin holds a Bachelors in Engineering (Computer Science) from DIT, Delhi University and a Masters in Management Studies from NMIMS, Mumbai University.

Nitin will be based out of Mumbai initially and will eventually relocate to New York.  The Sales Team for Americas and the Pre-Sales team, other than the Sales teams associated with Key accounts, will directly report to Nitin. Manish Choudhary, Narendar Reddy, David Richards, Venkat Viswanathan, Darshan Dave, Reed Baerwolf and future appointment to the Divisional Manager position in RLT, will report to Nitin. In this role, Nitin will report directly to the CEO.
