Mumbai ad for Java centre By Techgirl
Over the years, Techgoss has published a number of exclusive human interest photos with some IT, BPO, KPO and Telecom links to the images. These include:
-In July, 2010, during our first Photo Competition, Techgoss had published exclusive photos of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg attired in Indian clothes and dancing at a wedding in India. This photo was republished by a number of popular blogs including Gawker, Pluggdin and others.
-Sometime back, a Tipster sent in photos of the marriage ceremony for Hotmail founder Sabeer Bhatia.
-In Feb, 2011, as part of our last photo competition, our exclusive photo of the Facebook shop in Mumbai went viral
And there were many more including one of Infosys branded samosas being sold in Pune. Techgoss had also published a photo of Nokia branded underwear being sold in India. Every major western brand and Trademark has been used (misused?) without getting official permission.
Techgoss reader TechWolv snapped a photo of an ad for a Java centre in Mumbai. On its website, database giant Oracle says: "Oracle and Java are registered trademarks of Oracle and / or its affiliates. Other names may be trademarks of their respective owners." Oracle guards its trademarks with a battery of lawyers and even sued Google late last year for infringing patents on the Java platform in Android. But will Oracle have the guts to sue this simple JAVA centre in India? Don’t think so!
Rs. 1000 will be sent to TechWolv for sending in the photo.
Do you have such human interest photos as well? For really exclusive photos we will pay you Rs. 5000, for most you will get a minimum of Rs. 1000. Anonymity guaranteed if you prefer your name is not used with the photo.
Techgoss note: Techgirl is a senior Tech journalist who reports on the IT, KPO and KPO Sectors for a leading media house. In her spare time, she dabbles in satire in her blog techgirltalk.blogspot.com. Techgirl has been ejected from Twitter for satirizing an Indian Minister. Her satire blog has links to her Times of India interview detailing her being kicked out of Twitter, and then being invited back.
