Apple Malware dodge By Techgirl
Even though most technology companies are money making ventures, some things still surprise. One of the most cashed up iconic tech majors Apple is telling its support staff to evade questions if end users query about a recent wave of Mac Defender malware attacks
ZDNet's Ed Bott broke the story about a confidential internal Apple document telling the company’s front-line support people how to handle customers who call about malware infections: Don’t confirm or deny that an infection exists, and whatever you do, don’t try to remove it.
Apple has sent the following mesg to its staff: “AppleCare does not provide support for removal of the malware. You should not confirm or deny whether the customer’s Mac is infected or not.”
I pay a premium to buy Apple hardware and software and you don’t want to tell me if my computer is infected!
