Indian Spammer not good at his job By Sandhya
As many as 85 percent of all the emails in the world are spam selling everything from Viagra to designer watches from Hong Kong. The Spamhaus Project is an international nonprofit organization whose mission is to track the Internet's spam operations and to provide dependable real-time anti-spam protection for networks.
Spamhaus also works with Law Enforcement Agencies to identify and pursue spammers worldwide, and to lobby governments for effective anti-spam legislation. Founded in 1998, Spamhaus is based in Geneva, Switzerland and London, UK and is run by a dedicated team of 28 investigators and forensics specialists located in 8 countries.
According to Spamhaus, only about 100 individuals and organizations are responsible for all the spam in the world. Spamhaus has found that most spammers are from USA. Eastern Europe, China and other tech savvy countries have their share of spammers.
According to Spamhaus, India has 4 spammers who have sent enough junk mail to make it into their database of the top 140 spammers in the world. The Indian spammers include Daniel Mankani, Data Champions (aka Sloan Marketing), Herbal King and Ikon Marketing.
Unfortunately for Ikon Marketing, global anti spam body Spamhaus has given it the thumbs down. Not for being a successful spammer, but for being bad at its job.
The Spamhaus description for Mumbai-based Ikon Marketing is
“ Indian spammer that likes hitting domain contacts.
Persistently unable to get their spam encoded correctly or to be even remotely relevant to their victims.
Terminated from ISPs: CALPOP GNAX Rackforce “
So Spamhaus says Ikon is bad at spamming. This is good news for all of us.
