Syntel Transfer Agency
By Sandhya

Over the last 18 months, Techgoss had published a series of exclusive reports giving details of all that was happening inside the BPO, KPO and IT divisions of one of India’s most successful and regarded IT-ITES companies Syntel.  One report showed how that in the past Syntel BPO was overly reliant on couple of key clients. Also, reported were the exits of the CEO and key HR people.

Regular readers of Techgoss are well aware that a large number of our articles are crowd sourced.  People send in tips, story ideas and even articles. Many of our contributors have full times jobs in IT-ITES, and so prefer using a pseudonym. Some of the Tips sent to Techgoss lack fact and perspective or are seething with anger and hatred, and so are never published.  Over the last year, Techgoss has built up a substantial readership among the senior Syntel managers and so often young women and men send in Tips just wanting it to be brought to the attention of senior management so it can be resolved.  Most just want an issue to be solved and going to the media is the last resort. Today, we got a Tip which, in just a few detached words, tells the story.   A Tipster wrote in to Techgoss

Syntel’s Transfer Agency Vertical has one of the best records in the organization in terms of retention of its highly skilled and friendly staff.  But there have been some ripples of discontent within Syntel Transfer Agency manifesting in the resignation of 3 popular Managers (1 OM and 2 DM's) all within the span of the last 2 weeks. It is said that all were unhappy with the autocratic style of functioning of one of the Senior Managers.

It should be noted that 6 months back 1 more DM from the same team had engineered his move to a different team. Apparently, with Sunil Parchuri leaving Syntel, this particular manager has become more powerful and a key figure in many decisions.  Senior management is trying to retain the Ops Manager by offering him an alternative job in a different process where he has a new reporting chain.

I don’t want to name names*, but could our senior most management investigate why such a well run Process has suddenly lost 3 people so quickly?
