Rs 25 for Nokia holder By Techgirl
Over the years, Techgoss has published a number of exclusive human interest photos with some IT, BPO, KPO and Telecom links to the images. These include:
-In July, 2010, during our first Photo Competition, Techgoss had published exclusive photos of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg attired in Indian clothes and dancing at a wedding in India. This photo was republished by a number of popular blogs including Gawker, Pluggdin and others.
-Sometime back, a Tipster sent in photos of the marriage ceremony for Hotmail founder Sabeer Bhatia.
-In Feb, 2011, as part of our last photo competition, our exclusive photo of the Facebook shop in Mumbai went viral
And there were many more including one of Infosys branded samosas being sold in Pune. Techgoss had also published a photo of Nokia branded underwear being sold in India. Every major western brand and Trademark has been used (misused?) without getting official permission.
Just a couple of years ago, Nokia had 40 percent of the global market which now has shrunk to 25 percent. There are signs of panic at Nokia – senior staff being let go, alliance with Microsoft to use its phone operating system, shares diving because of profit downgrades etc. There is even talk of Microsoft buying out Nokia.
Has Nokia now decided that it will do all it can even to make a few more rupees in India? Techgoss reader and Techie Mr. Kumar snapped a photo of Nokia ‘branded’ phone holders being sold for Rs. 25 in Andhra Pradesh, India. Is Nokia’s brand name being used after a legal licensing agreement or is it being misused? Probably the latter.
Rs. 1000 will be sent to Mr. Kumar for sending in the photo.
Do you have such human interest photos as well? For really exclusive photos we will pay you Rs. 5000, for most you will get a minimum of Rs. 1000. Anonymity guaranteed if you prefer your name is not used with the photo.
Techgoss note: Techgirl is a senior Tech journalist who reports on the IT, KPO and KPO Sectors for a leading media house. In her spare time, she dabbles in satire in her blog techgirltalk.blogspot.com. Techgirl has been ejected from Twitter for satirizing an Indian Minister. Her satire blog has links to her Times of India interview detailing her being kicked out of Twitter, and then being invited back.
