Google+ invites glitch By Techgirl
Google’s beta invitation only social networking site Google Plus was launched yesterday and has generally received good reviews. Understandably, Google only gave a few journalists and hand picked non media types access to Google Plus. These special invitees were told they could only invite 15 of their friends and acquaintances by entering in their email addresses to the site.
Only glitch? There was never really a 15 people hard coded restriction. Read Write Web’s Marshall Kirkpatrick has written about how he invited 500 people within 20 minutes to use Google Plus. They, in turn, could invite others.
“ Google Plus is a very impressive product, but in order to test it and not over-hype it, the company offered very few invites to the service when it launched yesterday. Press and a few others were allowed to enter up to 15 email addresses before noon yesterday and all of those people got Plus accounts by mid-afternoon. Accounts did not come with any allocated invitations, though, so it's been widely reported that there are no Plus invites.
Apparently that's not the case. All you need to do to invite someone to the service is to paste their raw email address (I've only tested this with Gmail emails) into the "who to share" box and then send them something. “
Not surprising there are many people who want to be the first to try out new Google products. Thousands more people managed to gate crash they party than had been planned for.
