Cool iPad at RIM party
By Ankit Wadhwa

Regular readers of Techgoss are well aware that a large number of our articles are crowd sourced.  People send in tips, story ideas and even articles. Many of our contributors have full times jobs in IT-ITES, and so prefer using a pseudonym. Some of the Tips sent to Techgoss lack fact and perspective or are seething with anger and hatred, and so are never published. But today we got a Tip which, in just a few detached words, tells the story.  A Tipster wrote in to Techgoss

To reflect its combative mood or perhaps it wanted to show that it will knock out all competition, the Blackberry PlayBook launch in India’s invitation to journalists came in the form of a boxing glove.  But the launch was not all smooth sailing as the media coverage would like you to believe.

In the Blackberry PlayBook launch on June 22 there was a bit of an awkward moment. After Salman Khan unveiled the three PlayBook models (16, 32 and 64GB) people at the event were asked to have a look at the gadgets. As attendees started playing with the many applications in the PlayBook, one of the models suddenly got stuck! The official verdict was that the gadget had hung. One of the attendees quickly pulled out an iPad2 and started to run some similar applications to verify whether iPad2 could take that load easily. Much to the chagrin of Blackberry executives present, iPad2 ran smoothly (the geek reason being it runs only two apps on the background as compared to the many apps that Blackberry runs without the user's knowledge) The official joke going around was that even Salman Khan's 'dabaang' attitude can't save research in Motion (RIM).
