Anti Infy hub stops?
By Sandhya

Founded in 1889, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) is the world's leading business publication.

On May 11, 2010, Techgoss had reported on how a Wall Street Journal article titled ‘Can Infosys keep workers with hefty raises?’ had resulted in more than 960 comments -  most of which were critical of some key HR players at the tech major.

As reported earlier (and republished below), by Nov, 2010, this WSJ article cum Infosys discussion hub had garnered 2050 comments. Infosys workers had started using WSJ as a discussion forum on everything to do with their company.

By April, 2011, the mostly critical comments had increased to 2200 and then suddenly stopped.  Not a single comment has been left after that.

Most Infosys employees felt safe commenting at Wall Street Journal as their IP addresses would never be handed over to any Indian organization.  The Wall Street Journal has a strong legal team to defend such freedom of speech.

Did the discussions stop because they hit some hard limit on the number of comments?  Or were the commentators just bored and moved on?  Certainly, Mr. Pai’s resignation has taken out some of the heat in the debate.

WSJ still anti Infy hub

On June 25, 2010, Techgoss had reported on how the Wall Street Journal blog which had published the article had become a hub for discussions about Infosys.  As the WSJ follows the American standards of freedom of speech, it is easier for any Infosys employee to say what they feel like. By July 15, there were 1520 comments in this WSJ blog.  By Aug 30, the comments had increased to 1745.

By Nov 12, 2010, there were 2050 pro and anti Infosys comments at this blog.  Many commentators even leave information about staff movements.  On Diwali Day, a few Infosys employees in USA logged in complaining they were not given Diwali sweets.  More recently, someone from Bangalore left a comment ‘Total of 4 PCONs and SPMs resigned in Oracle Practice in Bangalore’.

There is only that much debate and discussion that can be allowed in Indian media.  So this WSJ blog, protected by strong constitutional free speech guarantees, has become an important hub for current and ex Infosys employees.  Check it out yourself.
