Orkut beats Google+ By Techgirl
So you thought Google’s social networking website Orkut was dead everywhere except for Brazil and India. Dying in India but not dead yet. Orkut was the social networking King in India till it was sidelined by Facebook India.
Alleyinsider has a report on how Google+, after building up a membership of 20 million in less than a month, has actually seen a traffic reduction from USA. Google+ draws most of its membership from USA followed by India.
Ironically, Google’s Orkut in USA is still more popular than Google+ in USA. According to the same report, Google+ was only the number 20 social networking Web site in the United States, with 1.79 million visits last week. That's actually down 3% from last week, when Google+ ranked number 19.
And Orkut USA beat Google+ USA by getting 2.37 million US visitors.
And I thought no one in USA used Orkut!
