BPO IBM Daksh Agent buys 4 cabs By Mike
The IBM Daksh BPO has grown to 25 delivery centers in India and the Philippines in the last 10 years. Daksh has a work force of 30,000 people who look after tens of blue chip clients. On its website, IBM Daksh says it is moving up in the value chain and sees itself as a BTO (Business Transformation Outsourcing) rather than a BPO.
At least one bright young agent at IBM Daksh has the same idea and has put in long hours to move up in life. In October 2007, a young man Aniket joined IBM. Hailing from a modest family, Aniket slogged it out for 8 months saving every Rupee he could. Aniket then bought a cab with this savings. He hired a driver to ferry paying passengers while he was doing his shifts at the BPO. He even rented out the cabs for BPO picnics, sometimes even driving the vehicle himself when he was not on a shift.
Today, the hard working Aniket owns 4 cabs and has paid off most of the loans. He also makes substantial profits for his small transport company.
Aniket currently works with the Virgin Media UK Process at IBM Daksh in Pune.
Needless to say, many of his managers and colleagues have a deep respect for Aniket’s inspiring work ethic.
