Pak girls prank calls
By Techgirl

I am one of the millions of Indians who really believe that the average Indian is the same as the average Pakistani in every way.  To its credit, NASSCOM has gone out of its way to invite their counterparts in Pakistan over to conferences in India.  Pakistan has a flourishing IT-BPO sector which will give India a run for its money once there is more political stability in our neighbour.  Pakistani girls, like their Indian sisters, are slowly overtaking boys at school and in college.

But there is some social behaviour which is harder to understand.  Pakistani national media is reporting that girls outnumber boys in prank calls to Government emergency phone numbers

The Punjab Emergency Service, Rescue 1122 received 10,88,235 obnoxious / irrelevant calls at emergency number 1122 since its inception in District Rawalpindi. The data revealed that 10,88,235 obnoxious calls included 537,623 calls from girls, 462,705 from boys, 32,437 from kids, 2,460 musical calls, 51,450 abusing calls and 1,560 were obnoxious / irrelevant calls.

….

No such article would be complete without an interview with a Dr who has a Degree is Psychology.  According to a Pakistani expert,  girls are doing it is because ‘now girls have more freedom in our society as compared to the past’.  Still scratching my tresses on such a Dr. Phil like explanation.

Could we have similar numbers in India?
