Tech MD stands for election
By Shalini Nagaonkar
Naveena C Krishnegowda, a techie from Mysore, India, has always been keen to contribute towards public welfare. According to him, there cannot be anything better than politics to fulfill his intention. Naveena is MD of Karthavya IT Solutions that specializes in the areas of website designing, development of Chitfund and MLM software, community websites and E-commerce Solutions.
Since college days, Naveena has been involved in various student welfare activities. He started a Youth Organization in college days and conducted many programs for the benefit of the students. Naveena also led the Swami Vivekananda Youth Forum in Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysore between 2007 and 2011 and actively organized weekly classes for the Youth. Additionally, he organized 'Viveka Darshana', a program to bring together the like minded and service oriented youth from different parts of the State and "Sphoorthi Ganga", a personality development workshop for the Mysore youth.
He is contesting Karnataka Assembly Elections from Krishnaraja Constituency, Mysore. The elections are scheduled to take place on 5th May 2013. Techgoss caught up with Naveena to understand more about his life as a techie and future plans.
Techgoss: Tell us something about yourself and educational background.
Naveena: I was brought up in a village. I completed my primary education there itself. I did my B.E from Coorg Institute of Technology, Ponnampet. Swami Vivekananda is my most favorite personality.
Techgoss: How did you get inspired to launch your company?
Naveena: I had no thought of launching a company in the beginning. We had formed a group in our college where we did some positive work. Towards the end of 6th semester, the idea took root in my mind that starting a business will help us think freely and live an independent life. I think that was the inspiration.
Techgoss: Why you started a software company as soon as you finished studying IT. Why you did not join a tech company first and then launch your own startup?
Naveena: To be honest, I wanted to live my life with conviction. I had a fear that joining a company would take me with the flow and that my life will be listless. I wanted to approach my life on my own strength and with clarity. That would have been impossible had I joined a company. I wanted to take time before I jump into this world. The clarity that I wanted was not for my technical career but for my life as a whole. I needed time for introspection and preparation. So an independent venture was the only option.
Techgoss: Your motto behind contesting elections.
Naveena: I can contribute well towards public welfare. I know it very well. The country will have my best contribution if I am in the public domain and especially as an elected representative. Politics is a place where mammoth work can be done to make our country a dream place for the entire mankind. Most of the current day politicians are self seeking and most undeserving. It will be the height of irresponsibility if people like me and you do not step forward. The country is being looted and there are not many concerned leaders who want to transform the destiny of the sinking millions. There seems to be anarchy. My motto behind contesting is to serve the country and to make the life of common man easier and fulfilling.
Techgoss: Can you share something about your future plans?
Naveena: With respect to Politics, I have just begun. So I am keeping my fingers crossed. I have started an NGO. I want to get a lot of youth involved in it and would like to see them visiting slums and villages and educate people. Would also like to start a school. I am waiting for the right opportunity. From the Company perspective, we want to come up with some useful products. We are working towards it.
