If Pak is Pornistan what is India?
By Bala Shah

FoxNews is one of the most powerful media groups in USA, and by extension many parts of the world.  It is the voice of conservative America. So much so, that as VP, Dick Cheney’s aides ensured every hotel he stayed in was told that the TV in his room had to be tuned to Fox.  On July 14, 2010, Fox News called Pakistan Pornistan for being the No. 1 Nation in sex web searches.

The Fox News article on July 14 (India time) reported

They may call it the "Land of the Pure," but Pakistan turns out to be anything but.

The Muslim country, which has banned content on at least 17 websites to block offensive and blasphemous material, is the world's leader in online searches for pornographic material, FoxNews.com has learned.

So here's the irony: Google ranks Pakistan No. 1 in the world in searches for pornographic terms, outranking every other country in the world in searches per person for certain sex-related content.

Pakistan is top dog in searches per-person for "horse sex" since 2004, "donkey sex" since 2007, "rape pictures" between 2004 and 2009, "rape sex" since 2004, "child sex" between 2004 and 2007 and since 2009, "animal sex" since 2004 and "dog sex" since 2005, according to Google Trends and Google Insights, features of Google that generate data based on popular search terms.

This Fox News item was republished by powerful Indian news papers like Hindustan Times, Mid-Day, DNA and others.

I have always believed that basically the people of India and Pakistan are the same, but the average citizen in our neighbour has suffered more because their voices had been suppressed by military dictatorships.  While India suffered one emergency where all civil rights were curtailed, a longer military rule in Pakistan resulted in such loss of liberties for decades. And the absence of a democracy led to the rise of right wing forces that discouraged normal, healthy interaction between young men and women. And this leads to its own kinds of problems. Not surprisingly, there are many young men in India and Pakistan who look at adult material on the internet.

Getting back to the point, if the people are the same and Pakistan leads in Google searches for Horse Sex, Donkey Sex, Child Sex etc, could India be far behind?

I went to Google Trends and searched for ‘Donkey Sex’.  Among the countries, Pakistan has the most searches followed by India.  Among cities, Delhi was No. 1 in the world.

Ditto for ‘Horse Sex’

What about more despicable, inhuman crimes like ‘Child Sex’ as reported by Fox News?

If you go to Google Trends and search for Child Sex, Google tells you that most of the searches are driven from Pakistan followed by India.  Guess which individual city in the world has the most searches for ‘Child Sex’?  None other than India’s capital Delhi. Delhi is followed by Chennai and Mumbai.  These are followed by cities from other countries.

It seems that some young men of both countries think alike.
