Epic desi browser: 5 Lakh downloads By Sameer
Princeton Uni educated Alok Bhardwaj worked as a Mergers & Acquisitions Investment Banker before starting his own New York City based educational services firm. Alok then moved to Bangalore, India to start Hidden Reflex which specializes in software development. Hidden Reflex launched the first Indian browser named Epic with many special features for the large Indian market.
When Epic was launched in mid-July, 2010, it captured the nation’s attention and was profiled by a number of national media including Hindu, Times of India, Hindustan Times, PCWorld, CIOL, Yahoo and many others.
One of the great features of Epic is that in Epic you can type in Hindi as well as many regional languages. It also has anti virus software built in. There are hundreds of choices of Indian settings when one is customizing the background. There are widgets to access Facebook, Twitter and mail services.
It has been about one and half months since Alok and his team in Bangalore launched Epic. Techgoss caught up with the Hidden Reflex founder and CEO Alok Bhardwaj and asked him how the response has been so far. Alok told Techgoss: “We're overwhelmed and very thankful to all of India for its support. Not just India, the world as Epic has been downloaded in 178 countries. We’ve cleared 5 lakh downloads and this is still just the beginning for Epic--we're working as hard as we can to keep improving Epic! “
