Genpact BFSI: 50 new Team Leaders By Joe
Genpact was India’s first BPO and still continues its market leadership position in India. Genpact has 41,000 employees and earned revenue of $1.1 Billion in 2009. Genpact started life as a Business Unit of GE, but by January 2005 it became an independent company. Two years later, it was listed on the NYSE. In 2009, NASSCOM ranked Genpact as the No. 1 BPO company in India.
After being on hold for a couple of years, the much awaited Associate Promotions program at Genpact eventuated, with nearly 50 Process Associates getting promoted to Process Developers. The hard working and deserving employees had their Assessment held in April, 2010. The final results were declared in June and their promotion letters sent in July, 2010.
The competition was fierce and included a tough written assessment followed by 2-3 rounds of interviews with senior management up to the rank of AVP. Some people had waited as many as 4 years for this promotion.
Unlike other processes in Genpact, a promotion in the BFSI (Banking, Financial Services and Insurance) non calling jobs is very tough. Only 5 to 6 percent of the employees get a chance to move up.
Process Associates are normal Agents. After promotion, they move up to Process Developers (Team Leaders). Next jump is to become Assistant Manager.
Genpact BFSI processes include Westpac(Australian bank), Wachovia bank(US), AllState Insurance, Aon Insurance and many more.
There will be a hike of around 15% to 18% in the salary of the promoted Agents, and after 2 years they will be eligible to apply to become an Assistant Manager.
