Teleperformance sacks online gamer
By Sandhya

Teleperformance is one of the biggest BPO’s in the world.  It has about 100,000 employees and revenue of 1,800 million pounds last year. Established in 1978, its core business spans the full spectrum of CRM/BPO contact center solutions. Teleperformance has a large global footprint in the industry with 276 contact centers, presence in 51 countries, servicing over 75 markets.

Teleperformance established operations in India in 2001. Teleperformance India operates in Gurgaon, Indore and Jaipur with more than 3500 employees.

On July 27, 2010, their Gurgaon offices lost a Technical Support Advisor because he was caught red handed playing computer games at work.  According to a Techgoss Tipster who works in their North India offices, their IT Department has been authorized to remotely monitor every person’s workstation.

Techgoss had reliably learnt that on July 27, the Teleperformance IT team was remotely monitoring someone from their Adobe support team.  Using remote computers and a methodology known as ‘Screen Barging Session’, they detected a Techsupport Advisor of the Installation Department playing an online game.   He was sacked on the spot.  According to insiders, Teleperformance sets very high standards for customer service and employee behavior at work, and so does not tolerate anyone goofing during business hours.

Adobe is one of the biggest clients for Teleperformance and also a new business stream, so everyone is on their toes.
