Syntel: GAC Process gone in 1 month
By Pulkit Sharma

Over the last ten months, Techgoss had published a series of exclusive reports giving details of all that was happening inside the BPO, KPO and IT divisions of Syntel.  One report showed how that in the recent past Syntel BPO was overly reliant on couple of key clients.  Techgoss had also reported on the exit of the CEO and senior HR people as well as recent salary hikes.

Now a Tipster tells us that the GAC Process at Syntel Maharashtra, which they brought over from the USA only in the last month or so, is being pulled back.  GAC aka Global Asset Control was basically a back office reconciliation process.  The client pulled it back after less than two months, and according to insiders it will be moved to China.

The Global Asset Control (GAC) Process consisted of almost 40 full timers of which 31 were in Syntel Mumbai and the rest at Syntel Pune.

The reverse migration is slated to be completed by Sept 10.  The Agents hired to service GAC were signed up to serve 18 months or forfeit their bond valued at Rs. 2 Lakh. Not surprisingly, many employees feel that if there is no Process to support, their bond should also be invalidated.

According to a reliable source,  the APAC process which supports Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore is having a few teething problems once they original team which migrated it to India moved on to other Processes. APAC has been with Syntel for approximately 2 years.
