Wikipedia boss photo
By Techgirl

Are you like me?  Loove Wikipedia!  Like and admire its founder Jimmy Wales! But don’t want to see his face on every Wikipedia page asking for donations?

Wikipedia, which does not accept advertising, is in the midst of its annual financial drive to raise the millions of dollars required to keep the popular site online.  But every page you read on Wikipedia now has a photo of Jimmy Wales asking for funds (image above)

Taylor Buley has worked out a way to block Jimmy Wales’s photo when you surf Wikipedia

- Go to Buley’s Github page.
- Drag the “De-jimmy” link into your browser’s bookmarks bar or Favorites bar.
- Click on the bookmark while browsing any Wikipedia page where Wales’ face appears.

And Jimmy Wales photo disappears!  To get his image back you will have to clear your browser’s cookies.

Perhaps one of people’s hero Anna Hazare’s tech savvy social media team may do the same for Congress boss Digvijay Singh who always grabs media headlines for attacking them.
