
Google India Top 10 By Techgirl
Google has just released its list of the most popular searches around in the world in 2011. According to Google, Web celeb Rebecca Black was the #1 fastest rising query globally. She wasn’t the only songstress to capture international attention this year: Adele made the fastest rising lists in over 15 countries spread across five continents, in addition to claiming a spot on the Google global list. Reality star Ryan Dunn, defendant Casey Anthony and tech luminary Steve Jobs also made the list, as people of interest took five of the top 10 spots.
At a global level, most of the top 10 searches involved Americans or American products. Such is the dominance of American culture and news media in the world. And whatever is popular in USA, is generally a hit with the net savvy youngsters in India as well.
What about Google India top searches? Google may not be too happy to see its arch rival Facebook as the most popular search item on Google India. And what would be a Google list be if it did not have ‘Downloads’ in the second spot (Downloads as in download movie, music and software aka piracy is some places).
