Genpact loses another key leader By Pulkit Sharma
Genpact was India’s first BPO and still continues its market leadership position in India. Genpact has 41,000 employees and earned revenue of $1.1 Billion in 2009. Genpact started life as a Business Unit of GE, but by January 2005 it became an independent company. Two years later, it was listed on the NYSE. In 2009, NASSCOM ranked Genpact as the No. 1 BPO company in India.
It seems Genpact big boss Pramod Bhasin is facing one of the toughest challenges of his career – to keep his flock together. Just four months after Vivek Gour served his last day as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Techgoss has learnt that Tajinder Vohra, Senior Vice President - Healthcare, SEP - S2P, too has put down his papers. Tajinder, a part of the core management team, it seems, will “start something on his own” and so has decided to exit Genpact. Tajinder joined Genpact in 2006 and was known to be a tough task master.
According to his Genpact bio, Tajinder holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Delhi and two Masters degrees from the University of Lehigh and University of Alabama. He has over 16 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Sourcing, New Products Introduction, Business Development and Services.
Tajinder worked for GE Healthcare in the United States from 1990 to 2006 in the Global Components, CT New Products Introduction division and Global Services divisions. Tajinder also had two assignments in Asia, the first to establish the GE BEL joint venture, and the second as the Global Supply Chain Manager for India, which involved technology transfer from US, Japan and Europe to India. His most recent role was to manage the Global Parts and Repair operations supporting a $4 billion business.
Tajinder is a certified Black Belt and is also trained in Lean from the Shingijutsu Co. in Japan. He joined Genpact in 2006, and is presently Senior Vice President & Business Leader for Genpact's Healthcare Provider services and Source-to-Pay SEP.
